It Pays to Know She is There – 4th conversation

An honest look at our personal and cultural modus operandi can generate a conscious rethinking of what, of our body-mind, is ours to adjust.

Soul according to Wikipedia: the spiritual or immaterial part of a human being or animal, regarded as immortal. Fine, but is that really all that can be said about Soul and her link to our heartbeat?

Shekinah – Soul Bride

In the 16th century, mystic Rabbi Isaac Luria wrote a Sabbath hymn in which he refers to Shekinahthe divine presence, with words that I believe to be eminently appropriate also in reference to Soul: I sing in hymns to enter the gates of the field of holy apples.

“A new table we prepare for Her, a lovely candelabrum sheds its light upon us.

Between right and left, the Bride approaches in holy jewels and festive garments …

Crystal Soul

Some time ago, while trying to clarify a point on a forum I moderated, I came up with a little analogy that has helped me understand better the relationship between the soul – pure, clean energy – and the ego-persona/energy field.

It goes like this: imagine there is a pond and, lying at the bottom, there is a quartz crystal. This crystal has been there for quite some time and, looking at it from the edge, it appears dingy green, perhaps from pond slime.

In my mind, our ego-persona/our energy field is symbolized by the pond water while the crystal symbolizes the soul that is unable to shine through our emotional clutter, turmoil and the resulting relative negativity of our energy field.

While I was working this out, I initially thought that the crystal WAS green because it had become contaminated by pond slime. Thus, I thought what needed to be done was scrub that crystal clean to allow it to shine freely, as crystals do – but I was wrong.

The crystal, our soul, NEVER becomes impure or contaminated. It always remains pure energy. It is just that its energy cannot shine through the stagnant water of the pond.

So, what needs to be done is simply purify that water till it is all clear and then the crystal’s energy and brilliance can radiate through the water, all the way to the surface, even as it remains at the bottom of the pond.

Make sense?

Yes, it is important to remember that souls are eternal.

It is important to remember that eternity has nothing to do with our man-made way of counting nano seconds, minutes, years or even light years. Quantum science tells us that in the cosmos space time blends together in a mind-bending way the past, the present and the future.

It is also most important to remember that we are all souls in disguise inside the tiny bodysuit of flesh, bones and fluids that we see in our baby pictures and, of course, indie the larger, more mature, bodysuit we see in the mirror.

There are roughly 7 billion people alive today. In the time it is going to take me to finish writing this section and publish it, some 100,000 people worldwide will have passed away and some 300,000 babies will have been born – each day. Today, at least 3 of the people who passed away were victims of the Boston Marathon explosions.

Serious questions: If it is true that circa 1300 AD, there were only about 370 million people on earth i.e. 370 million souls doing active duty inside whichever human vehicle they had been assigned to, where do the extra billions of reincarnated souls come from?

As each individual alive today is a soul reincarnated in this lifetime for karmic reasons that we, her vehicle in this lifetime, are intended to amend, the burning question is how many humans lived on Earth in eras that archaeology and science have not yet been able to plumb? It does sound improbable that there were ever some 7 billion people alive at any time before … now. And yet ….

Answers, Anyone?

Serious question: have any disciplines of archaeology/science been able to categorically prove how many humans were on earth say, circa 10,000 BC?

Could there have been a period in Earth’s history when more than 7 billion people lived – all at the same time, as we do today?

Serious question: how reliable was the head count circa 1500 BC that categorically stated that the Children of Israel, guided through the Wilderness by Moses, totalled an exact 600,000?

Herodotus, said to the Father of History, counted the armies of Greeks and other nations in millions. Some modern scholars differed and slashed that number by thousands, but were they in possession of more reliable knowledge of people deployed in Ancient Greece than Herodotus was?

As a rule, what archaeologists and scientists are interested in but cannot see with their own eyes becomes a collage of ideas – a theory, which excludes all possibilities that appear ‘inconvenient’.

Worldwide, a myriad of accounts predating 1300 AD, be they or a religious or a aggressive nature, refer to ‘multitudes’.

How Many Make a Multitude?

Serious question: what is the maximum capacity of a ‘multitude’?

Serious question: what about the ‘multitudes’ who obviously would have died in the biblical flood? How about the multitudes who would have died worldwide during the slow sinking of the continents?

Serious question: how large might have been the multitude of people who lived in the vicinity of the now submerged underwater pyramid found off Yonaguni Jima Island, in Japan?

It is estimated that some 400 million people worldwide died of the plague in the 14thcentury. Millions of persons died in the Crusades. Many more millions were slaughtered by the Huns and also by Chinese Emperors’ armies, not to mention others but, basically, since the Dawn of Time, the multitudes who inhabited planet Earth across all continents, in periods preceding 1300 BC, those whose bones, artefacts and census tallies have yet to be revealed by earthquakes, terrain shifts or erosion, cannot yet be tallied.

Clearly, what archaeologists and scientists cannot count because they have no vestige of its existence cannot be counted. Yet, the inability to count anything for whatever reason has never meant that the ‘thing’ had not actually been there to be counted – possibly in great numbers – in multitudes, even.

Beyond a Reasonable Doubt

Clearly, what archaeologists and scientists cannot count because they have no vestige of its existence cannot be counted. Blind Little Mice

It is true that, to some degree, ignorance is bliss.

At the moment, I do not feel ignorant and I do not feel blissful. Now that I know what I know, I also know what I don’t know, and I feel my practical work on the ground still sucks big time.

And if I let this perception turn into frustration then, it will be the sure sign that I have dropped out of the present-moment, that I have let old thoughts intrude, that I am no longer flowing. Grumble, grumble.

Here is another little story for you:

Imagine a maze of labyrinthine proportions. Imagine it white. Imagine darkness all around it. Now, half a meter into the maze, imagine a tiny white mouse.

This little mouse, nose a-twitchin’, scuttles through and around a few sections until she hits a dead-end.

The little white mouse scoots back to the nearest opening and trots off, seemingly unperturbed, in another direction altogether. This mouse is actually quite a clever little mouse. There are some, you see, that would keep trying to get through the same passageway, again and again, so sure that the piece of cheese is right there, on the other side, but they get zapped again and again.

Back to our clever little mouse. Luck is on her side. With a clean run ahead, she puts a wriggle in her wiggle – she has things to do, places to see and she senses that the piece of yummy cheese is within her reach. Woohoo!

Oh, ouch! Just as she thought she had this nailed – ZAP!!!

A little shock on the tip of her pink nose makes her whiskers twitch. She sits on her haunches, shakes her head a couple of times, scratches behind an ear and off she goes again, but in another direction altogether. Like the ball in a pinball machine, totally random, bouncing off from stimuli to deterrents, the little mouse keeps going – the blind little mouse that she is.

She cannot guess which section of her labyrinth will take her on the long and happy run to the nice bit of cheese nor can she anticipate which turn will lead her to yet another dead-end or, worse, to the electric shock that zaps the tip of her nose.

After all, our clever little mouse is no more enlightened than all the others.

Warriors We Are

Courage comes from our willingness to trust and be humble little blind mice in a maze. No idea in which direction lie the coveted morsels of cheese. No idea behind which are hidden the punishing electrical pulses.
